The anodizing provides an additional corrosion, stain and smudge resistant surface. Anodizing adheres better to paint when painting. The use of 10-24 threads found with many US valves can allow unsafe orientation of valve due to the smaller diameter. Therefore a locating pin is often needed with the 10-24 thread.
